Four-star interior offensive lineman Sam Walker announced his top three schools on Sunday, placing Clemson alongside rival South Carolina and Georgia Tech.
The 6-foot-4, 320-pound recruit out of Central High School in Carrollton, Georgia, ranks as a consensus four-star prospect, holding spot No. 53 overall, No. 4 among interior offensive linemen, and No. 8 in the state of Georgia according to Rivals rankings.
Walker revealed his top choices on social media with a concise post:

Building Momentum on the Trail
Walker’s announcement comes shortly after four-star quarterback Trace Hawkins became the Tigers’ first commitment for the 2028 class.
A two-year anchor on Central High’s offensive line, Walker’s recruitment escalated rapidly following his freshman season. By February 2025, he earned early offers from Appalachian State, Kennesaw State, Georgia Southern, and Tennessee, followed by visits to Knoxville, Georgia Southern, and Alabama. He added SEC offers from South Carolina in May 2025 and Georgia in June 2025.
Throughout his junior campaign, Walker added an offer from Alabama during their game against Vanderbilt while visiting Florida State, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina. His offer list subsequently expanded to include Florida, Ohio State, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M, and Miami, with additional visits to Duke, Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss.
Clemson’s Relationship with Walker
Although Clemson officially extended an offer in mid-June, offensive line coach Matt Luke and the Tigers staff built rapport with Walker over the past two seasons. Walker attended games in Death Valley during the 2024 and 2025 seasons before making a return trip this summer.
Walker was among the first offensive linemen offered by Clemson in the 2028 class. Heading into his junior season, On3 analyst Chad Simmons logged an expert prediction favoring the Tigers to land the elite lineman.
While Clemson holds early momentum, the Tigers will look to maintain their position as regional competitors continue their pursuit throughout the recruiting cycle.
