Tigers demolish Panthers 63-52, prove depth is the real dividing line in the ACC
Clemson killed this game in the first quarter. 33-16 after ten minutes. Pittsburgh never recovered. The Tigers came out ready to play, and Pitt looked like they were still figuring out what time the game started.
Final was 63-52. But that doesn’t tell you anything about how much Clemson controlled this. Led for 91 percent of the game. Pitt’s biggest lead was literally one point. One.

Here’s the real story: Clemson’s bench scored 26. Pitt’s bench scored 6. That’s the entire game right there. When you get outscored 26-6 off the bench, you’re done. Your starters can’t carry you every night. Clemson’s bench is better than Pitt’s entire rotation.
First Half Told the Story
Clemson 63, Pitt 36 at halftime. Game over. Clemson just managed it the second half.
Pitt made a run in the third—outscored Clemson 16-0 at one point. Cool. You’re not coming back from 27 down. The Tigers already won. They knew it. Just cruised the rest of the way.
Nick Davidson Changed the Game
Nick Davidson. 12 points on 5-8. Off the bench. That’s what Clemson’s bench looks like. You get solid guys who just get buckets. No drama.
Brennan Johnson 8. Ace Buckner 4. Corey Thompson 2. Everyone contributes. Pittsburgh? Khalif Mullen goes 2-2 and that’s it. Nate Indrusaitis 0-7. Everyone else nothing. That’s the difference between a real team and one that’s just hoping.
Clemson has five guys who can get you points. Pitt has Roman Siulepa and then… hope. That’s why Clemson is 18-4 and Pitt is 9-13.
Let it fly, Nick👌

The Numbers That Mattered
Clemson 46%, Pitt 38%. Not a huge gap. But Clemson hit 38% from three and Pitt hit 19%. That’s the difference. Three-point shooting wins games. Pitt couldn’t shoot.
Free throws. Clemson 85%, Pitt 64%. When games get close, that matters. Clemson made theirs. Pitt didn’t.
Second-chance points: 11-2 Clemson. Clemson won every battle for the ball. Pitt couldn’t rebound to save their lives.
Paint: 22-16 Clemson. They had easier looks inside because defenses had to guard the three.
Clemson led 91% of the game. Pitt’s biggest lead was one point. Story over.
What This Means
Clemson 18-4. 8-1 in the ACC. Fifteen straight over Pitt. That’s not an accident. There’s a real gap here.
Roman Siulepa had 12 and 9 for Pitt. He played hard. Doesn’t matter. You can’t win with one guy. The ACC will eat you alive.
Clemson has bench depth. Clemson can shoot. Clemson has five guys. Pitt has one and then they’re hoping. That’s the game.
Depth wins. Clemson gets it. Pitt doesn’t.
Brad Brunell and the Tigers will be back on the court
