Twitter Reacts to Clemson first 2026 transfer portal pickup

Clemson has their first commit of the transfer portal for 2026, Elliot Washington II.

Washington (5’11, 190) is a former four-star and top-200 prospect from Florida, is ranked as the No. 13 cornerback and No. 192 player nationally in the 2026 portal class via 247Sports.

Washington had near to no minutes his freshman stint, putting up a measly 82 defensive snaps.

Then Tom Allen arrived and his opportunities shot up. 366 defensive snaps in Allen’s solo season, and a key piece for the Nittany Lions in a College Football Playoffs Semifinal run.

In 2025 he received 255 snaps for the Nittany Lions before entering the transfer portal. He missed the Pinstripe Bowl due to this.

Under Allen, Washington had a coverage grade of 71.4 and a tackling grade of 83.0, according to PFF, in 2025, those numbers dropped to 65.9 and 70.7, respectively.

Ashton Hampton needs more appreciation for his efforts… Bravo Ash.
