Clemson S.C. – At long last, Clemson has their guy at offensive coordinator.
Step forward Chad Morris, who enters his second term as Offensive Coordinator for Clemson. The Clemson Board of Trustees’ Compensation Committee called a special meeting for Monday morning to approve the football coach’s compensation.
Morris has not called plays since 2020 when he served as the Auburn Offensive Coordinator. In recent history he has served as an analyst for South Florida’s in 2022, an offensive analyst for Swinney in 2023, and in 2024 served as wide receiver / passing coordinator at Texas State.
He however opted not to coach during the 2025 season due to him wanting to watch his son Chandler Morris ball out. The quarterback led the Virginia Cavaliers to an 11-3, 7-1 ACC record throwing a flat 3,000 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, 9 interceptions and a 66.4 QBR.

Chad Morris helped the Tigers set 127 offensive records (89 individual marks and 38 team records), while winning the 2011 ACC Championship and guiding them to a 41-11 record during his 4 year stint as Clemson’s OC from 2011-2014.
He is known for building the framework of a powerful offense that would lead the Tigers to national titles in 2016 and 2018, and was a key piece in recruiting former star QB Deshaun Watson to Clemson.
Morris revitalized a horrid 1-11 SMU team and made them a fighting 7-5 team before he took the head coach job at Arkansas
