Tyler Trimnal and Galen Flynn made their returns to Historic Riggs Field as the No.7 ranked Clemson United (1-0-1) took down the South Carolina Gamecocks (1-1-0) 4-1 on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Ransford Gyan, Nathan Richmond, Wahabu Musah, and Misei Yoshizawa.
The game started off with a Clemson onslaught, dominating most of the possession through the beginning of the first half. Gyan came close in the 11th minute cutting in on his left and sending a shot that rocketed off of the left post.
In the 25th minute Musah went down in the box but after review was deemed as not a foul.
Luck finally went the Tigers way however as in the 31st minute Gyan nearly blew off the net with a first time shot with his right foot after being supplied with a low cross by Misei Yoshizawa.
The half closed with James Kelly getting open in the box with a shot right at Joseph Andema.
United added some distance to the scoreline at the beginning of the first half with Nathan Richmond getting on the board in the 53rd minute due to a giveaway by South Carolinas goalkeeper Fillip Versterre.

South Carolina responded immediately however as Carolinas Mika Habel scored with a right footed shot into the bottom right hand corner.
In the 75th minute Richmond went off grabbing at his leg, whether it’s an injury or just had a minor pain is unknown.
Tyler Trimnal made his presence in the game known in the 77th minute with a late tackle on Floki Stephensen making him receive his first yellow card of the night.
Clemson began to find the groove they had in the first half, and it showed as Musah added to the scoreline dribbling his way from the top of the box around multiple players excellently and drilling a shot into the bottom right corner of the net to make it 3-1 .
Yoshizawa put icing on the cake with a shot from Mason Jimenez being saved and being put on a platter for the Midfielder to tap in with his right. 4-1 is all she wrote for the Tigers on the day.
Next up for United is a matchup back at Historic Riggs Field against UAB on Friday August 29th.
