This past Friday four-star prospect Keshawn Stancil committed to Clemson and Dabo Swinney, keeping the Tigers as a Top 10 recruiting class.
The North Carolina native chose Clemson over Georgia, Penn State, NC State and Miami. He held 30 other Division 1 offers aside from the schools already named.
He joins Kameron Cody (DT), Dre Quinn (EDGE) and J.R. Hardrick (EDGE) as the fourth defensive line recruit.

The Tigers were late on the recruiting cycle with Stancil as he wasn’t extended an offer by the historic program until late last month yet still landed an official visit with the rapidly rising recruit.
The scheduled visit made a huge mark on his decision as he was crystal-balled by multiple insiders to the school and chose Clemson over his hometown school post-visit, NC State.

The 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive tackle didn’t make any recruitment rankings to begin his high school career, seeing the field in just three games and totaled four tackles, two of which were sacks.
However, his sophomore campaign saw him breakout for Clayton High School, recording 39 tackles, eight for losses, five sacks, an interception and a forced fumble. This strong performance led to his first Division 1 offers from Temple, Troy, App State, Arkansas State and Liberty.
He didn’t take a step back in his junior year, leading the trenches and accounting for 63 tackles, 23 of those for a loss, nine sacks and three forced fumbles. Stancil led the Clayton Comets to the second round of the playoffs and earned First-team All Conference honors, as well as being named Defensive Lineman of the Year within his conference.
Stancil now ranks at the No. 157 national prospect, the No. 20 DL recruit and the No. 10 player reigning from North Carolina, per 247Sports Composite.
He’s light on his feet for someone so well built and can still destroy his opponents with pure strength and length coming off the line. He sheds blocks easily and consistently makes his way to the opposing quarterback.
Stancil simply is an athletic freak who can chase down running backs from behind with his 4.6 40 speed yet is also able to throw around the biggest guys on the field, benching 300 and squatting 450 at the age of 17, per HUDL.
