Clemson Athletics is gearing up to host a grand parade, a fitting tribute to the Clemson Men’s Soccer team’s achievement of winning the 2023 National Championship. The event is slated for February 3, beginning at 11:30 a.m., and will be followed by a recognition ceremony during the halftime of the men’s basketball game against Virginia in the Littlejohn Coliseum.
The Parade Route: From Sikes Hall to Historic Riggs Field
The parade will kick off at Sikes Hall, journeying along Highway 93, and culminating at the Historic Riggs Field. While no gathering will be held at Riggs Field, fans will have the opportunity to capture a memorable photo with the national championship trophy on the concourse of Littlejohn Coliseum.
This unique opportunity will be available to all ticket holders attending the basketball game, where the team recognition will take place during halftime. Students and fans are urged to assemble on Bowman Field and line the streets along the parade route, joining in the celebration of the fourth national title in the program’s history.
A Day Filled with Celebrations and Local Business Support
Those attending the parade and game are encouraged to explore and support downtown businesses before and after the celebration. The basketball game is set to tip-off at 2:00 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum, with tickets available for purchase online.
A Weekend of Athletic Excellence
For the fans planning to arrive early, they can also attend the women’s gymnastics meet scheduled for Friday evening. This event will also celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day before the meet against NC State, which is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
In addition, the women’s tennis team has a match at the Duckworth Family Tennis Center against Charlotte at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for these events are available online.
In all, it promises to be a weekend of athletic excellence, community spirit, and celebration. So, mark your calendars, gather your orange and purple gear, and prepare to cheer on the Tigers in their moment of glory.
