Clemson sophomore cornerback Toriano Pride Jr. became the fifth Clemson player in the past several days to enter his name into the transfer portal.
Pride, a four-star recruit and member of the Tigers’ 2022 recruiting class, saw his playing time diminish over the course of the 2023 season with the emergence of a quartet of true freshmen corners who took over the Clemson secondary.
“To my teammates, thank you for pushing me every day to be the best,” wrote Pride Jr. in part. “Thank you for being the best group of brothers I could ever ask for. I have formed friendships for life and will always love you guys.”

Over his two seasons at Clemson, Toriano played in 26 games, starting three of those. He recorded 37 tackles, two tackles for loss, nine pass breakups, a sack, one interception, and a safety over 478 snaps. He was ranked as the sixth best cornerback prospect in the 2022 cycle.
