After dropping an 8–3 road decision at Charlotte earlier in the week, the No. 23 Clemson softball returned home and delivered three consecutive shutout victories in the Clemson Classic, sweeping Lipscomb, Coastal Carolina, and Baylor while outscoring their opponents 24–0 at McWhorter Stadium.

The sweep marked one of Clemson’s most complete weekends of the season, as the Tigers paired consistent pitching with an offense that produced timely hits and sustained pressure throughout each game.
Clemson opened the tournament Friday with an 8–0 win over Lipscomb, setting the tone early behind a balanced offensive effort and a complete-game shutout from Lexie Hames.
The Tigers struck in the second inning and added to the lead in the fourth, fifth, and sixth, finishing with 10 hits and scoring in four different frames. Marian Collins recorded a multi-hit performance, while Mac Pavese drove in runs and reached base consistently. Clemson’s lineup showed patience, working counts and forcing Lipscomb pitchers into extended innings.
Hames was in control throughout, scattering two hits across six scoreless innings while issuing only three walks and striking out 10. Lipscomb did not advance a runner past second base.
Later Friday, Clemson carried its momentum into a second shutout, defeating Coastal Carolina 8–0 behind another strong showing in the circle.
Abby Dunning tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out six. Clemson jumped out quickly with two runs in the first inning and broke the game open in the fifth with a six-run outburst.
Julia Knowler provided a highlight moment with a home run, while Collins continued her hot weekend with multiple hits. The Tigers again demonstrated improved situational hitting, stringing together quality at-bats and capitalizing with runners in scoring position.
Saturday’s finale against Baylor presented Clemson with its biggest measuring stick.
The Bears entered the contest 9–2 and riding a four-game winning streak, but Clemson controlled the game from start to finish in an 8–0 victory.
Sierra Maness delivered five shutout innings, holding Baylor to just two hits while striking out two and inducing weak contact. Clemson’s offense produced 11 hits, scoring in each of the first two innings and adding insurance runs in the middle frames.
Collins posted another multi-hit game, Kiley Channell added extra-base power, and the Tigers consistently put pressure on Baylor’s defense with aggressive baserunning.
Across three games, Clemson’s pitching staff combined to allow six total hits, did not surrender a run, and limited opponents to a .085 batting average. Offensively, the Tigers totaled 30 hits, scored 24 runs, and committed only two errors.
More than the results, the weekend showed a Clemson team beginning to find its rhythm. The Tigers played cleaner defense, limited free passes, and displayed a more consistent offensive approach.
The sweep moves Clemson to 9–5 on the season and provides a clear response following the team’s loss at Charlotte earlier in the week. Clemson will not have long to celebrate, however, as the Tigers are set to face Baylor again on Sunday in a rematch at McWhorter Stadium.
