The Tigers enter the matchup riding a three-game sweep of Army, a weekend that showcased both early-season depth on the mound and impact performances from several newcomers. Clemson allowed just two runs over 26 innings in the series, posting a 0.35 team ERA while striking out 34 batters and issuing only two walks.
Offensively, Clemson wasted little time finding its footing. Transfer Nate Savoie made an immediate impression in his Clemson debut, going 8–11 with a double, a home run, and seven RBIs over the first three games. Luke Gaffney also looked comfortable at the plate, collecting six hits in 11 at-bats, while Bryce Clavon, Tryston McCladdie, and Jarren Purify all contributed across the weekend.

The Tigers showed power early as well, with four home runs in the opening series coming from Jacob Jarrell, Savoie, McCladdie, and Clavon. Through three games, Clemson is hitting .376 as a team and has produced four doubles and four home runs.
On the mound, Clemson received strong performances throughout the pitching staff. Tennessee transfer Michael Sharman was dominant in his Tiger debut, allowing one hit over six innings with eight strikeouts in a 10–0 win. Aidan Knaak, despite not being at his sharpest, limited Army to three hits in three innings while striking out six. The bullpen was particularly impressive, with Dylan Harrison, Hayden Simmerson, Dion Brown, Danny Nelson, and Joe Allen all delivering quality outings.
Charlotte enters Tuesday’s matchup at 1–2 overall after dropping two of three games to San Diego over the weekend. The 49ers are hitting .250 as a team and collected six doubles and three home runs in the opening series. Senior first baseman Cody Gunderson leads the Charlotte offense after going 6–9 with two home runs, while junior catcher Cale Stricklin has driven in five runs.
On the mound, Charlotte’s pitching staff carries a 7.20 ERA through three games. The staff has struck out 33 batters but has also issued 15 walks, allowing opponents to hit .290.
