Clemson Softball receives preseason rankings by D1 and USA Softball

Clemson Softball has received their official preseason rankings by both USA Softball and D1 Softball and the results look promising.

D1 Softball has the Tigers coming in at number 15 overall coming in behind an Alabama squad that is coming off of a 40-23 season where they won the 2025 NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional and ahead of Duke and Georgia with the former going 41-18 and took down Coastal Carolina in the NCAA Durham Regional and the latter going 35-23 but winning the NCAA Regional and only getting knocked out to the three seed superteam of the Florida Gators who comes in at fifth on this preseason list.

Clemson achieves a higher ranking in the USA Softball rankings coming in at the 12 spot. This bracket, unlike the D1 Softball bracket puts us above Alabama and notably ahead of the LSU Tigers who last year ended out at 42-16 last year notably beating the 2025 College World Series champions Texas Longhorns in regular season play, and upsetting number three seed in the NCAA regional UConn Huskies.

Clemson will formally kick off their season in Clearwater Florida against the former 50-16 South Conference champions Southeastern Louisiana.
