The mini slide continued for Clemson baseball on Friday night.
The Tigers dropped their second consecutive game to N.C. State as the Wolfpack broke open a close game late and cruised to an 8-3 victory over Clemson to clinch the series win. The Tigers will need a win on Saturday to avoid what would be a shocking sweep to the #25 Wolfpack.
With the loss, the #2 ranked Clemson baseball team drops to 36-9 overall and 13-7 in ACC play.
Clemson took the lead first on a second inning home run from Collin Priest, but N.C. State rallied with two outs and connected on three two-out singles to take a 2-1 lead in the fourth. The Wolfpack’s Josh Houge belted a two-run homer in the fifth to extend the Tigers’ deficit to 4-1.

Clemson rallied in the sixth, scoring twice on a Jacob Jerrell long ball and an RBI ground out by Cam Cannarella to cut the margin to 4-3, but the Tigers would get no closer. The Pack slammed the door, however, with a decision four-run seventh inning capped by a three-run blast by Alex Sosa.
Heath Andrews (4-2) earned the win for N.C. State with six solid innings. He helped the Wolfpack improve their overall record to 29-12 and 14-6 in the ACC, one game clear of Clemson in the standings.
For Clemson baseball, Drew Titsworth suffered his first loss of the season, and his collegiate career, in an outing where he gave up eight hits, four runs, and a walk over four innings.
