Clemson Basketball lands Nevada transfer Nick Davidson

Following the departure of nine Clemson Basketball players, whether it was too graduation or the transfer portal, Brad Brownell is going to make an emphasis on recruiting out of the portal this off-season.

With that being said, Clemson’s first portal contact and Nevada transfer Nick Davidson has officially committed to the Tigers, choosing the program over Virginia, Washington, Texas and Notre Dame.

Davidson is one of the top players in the transfer portal this cycle, excelling as a versatile forward that can do just about everything from being an interior defender to being a sharpshooter from behind the arc.

The 6-foot-10 big man is coming off a career-best season with the Nevada Wolf Pack, averaging 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. He can also slide into being a small-ball center who can stretch the floor as he shot 37% from 3-point land on nearly four attempts per game.

The stellar performance over the course of his 33-game season earned Davidson a second-team All-Mountain West selection for the 2024-25 season.

While the Wolf Pack made the NCAA tournament in Davidson’s sophomore season — averaging 12.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game — they would unfortunately miss it this past season, going 17-16 in the regular season.

However, he would have one of his best performances of the year in his final game against a tourney-team, the Colorado State Rams. The 238-pound forward went off for 22 points, six rebounds and a block.

Davidson’s play style should be a great fit for the Tigers and Brownell, look for him to be significant impact at the high-major level.
