The Savannah product is a three-star recruit and ranks as the No. 447 recruit, the No. 47 player at his position and the No. 53 player in the state of Georgia, per 247Sports Composite.
While he’s already committed to the Tigers, he’ll be back in no time as his first visit lined up over the next few months is with Clemson in late May.
The rising senior has shown consistent progress over his three-year tenure at Benedictine Military School, seeing increases in playing time and statistics.
The 6-foot-2 lineman started his varsity career off well as he made an impact in limited games played, recording 10 tackles, three tackles for a loss and half of a sack in five games played.
He had a breakout sophomore campaign as he racked up 78 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, eight sacks and a fumble recovery on the way to a 4-A GHSA Semi-Final Playoff appearance. The development and high ceiling of Cody was evident to scouts nationwide as offers came flocking.
His junior year was slightly different but successful nevertheless, achieving career-high’s across the board in less games due the team making as deep of a playoff run as the previous year. The 285-pound recruit tallied 89 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, eight and a half sacks and one pass deflection in 12 games played.
The difference is from freshman year to now is night and day as Cody has progressed in strength, size and technique which is what everyone wants to see in a young defensive prospect. He looks great on his feet and makes shedding blocks in the trenches look like baby food. Not to mention his power rush moves are elite, using them to take out a lot of opposing linemen this past season.
Keep an eye on this kid heading into his senior season, it wouldn’t be surprising if he led his team to another deep playoff run to cap off his high school career.
