#6 Clemson Baseball Preview – Georgia Southern Eagles

Last week’s mid-week game did not go as planned, as the Tigers dropped a tough one to in-state foe Coastal Carolina.   The front-loaded mid-week schedule is starting to dwindle and there are only a few more on the schedule.

There is only one game this week and it will be against the Georgia Southern Eagles out of the Sun Belt Conference.

The Tigers will stay on the road for the mid-week game and travel to North Augusta, South Carolina and play at SRP Park, minor league home of the Augusta GreenJackets, Single-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.

Tuesday night’s game will start at 6:30PM and the Tigers have been designated as the visitors for the non-conference game against Georgia Southern.

Georgia Southern comes into the tilt at 17-10, 5-4 in the Sun Belt Conference.

Clemson and the Georgia Southern Eagles have played 91 times over the years, with the Tigers leading the series 60-30-1.  Georgia Southern always has a tough squad, and has been a landing place for many Power-4 transfers over the years.

Here is your preview of Clemson’s mid-week game with the Georgia Southern Eagles.

SUMMARY

This will be the second straight Tuesday night where the Tigers will face a team from the Sun Belt Conference.  We all know what happened last Tuesday, and hopefully history will not repeat itself this week.

Georgia Southern is a quality baseball team.  They have lost all 4 games they have played against common opponents of the Tigers (Coastal x3 and Georgia Tech), while Clemson is 2-2 in their four games against those same opponents.

This will be a fun venue for the Tigers to play in, allowing Tiger fans from Aiken County and the surrounding areas to catch some Clemson Baseball.

The weather is expected to be pleasant and the baseball should be good as well.

As always…

Go Tigers!
