No. 4 Clemson baseball completed the midweek sweep against The Citadel on Wednesday, run-ruling the Bulldogs 11-1 in seven innings. The Tigers (21-2, 2-1 ACC) racked up 10 runs on 10 hits, six of those runs coming in just the first inning.
Tryston McCladdie went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, including a three-run homer, while five Tiger pitchers combined to allow one run and strike out eight.
Game highlights
Clemson starter Noah Samol began the game by recording his first strikeout of the season and then picked off a runner at first, setting the stage for the Tigers, who quickly batted around the order.
Cam Cannarella followed up his 5-for-5 performance yesterday by singling Dominic Listi home on the first pitch he saw. Purify, who had walked, then came home on Paino’s sacrifice fly to right. With one out, the Tigers kept it pouring with singles from Luke Gaffney and Listi, as well as a double from Collin Priest to give the Tigers a six-run first inning.

Both teams went down quickly in the second inning. The Bulldogs pushed a run across in the third, but Crighton stole the momentum back for Clemson with an impressive running catch in foul territory. The Tigers capitalized on the momentum, adding four more runs in the bottom of the inning courtesy of back-to-back bombs from McCladdie and Listi.
