Clemson Football Snags Two Elite 2026 Wide Receivers

Recruiting is now in full swing for College Football programs across the nation, and Clemson Football has picked up a lot of momentum in the current cycle with four commits in the past three days, including their first two receivers of the class.

Clemson’s 2026 recruiting class is now ranked No. 5 nationally, sitting behind Texas A&M, Kansas, Oregon and USC.

The highly touted wideouts, Naeem Burroughs and Connor Salmin, were both offered in June of 2024 and seemingly had a great Elite Retreat in Clemson this past weekend.

Burroughs is one of the most sought-after wide receiver prospects in the 2026 class, holding 35 other offers from programs like Alabama, USC, Texas, Florida and more.

He currently ranks as the No. 61 player nationally, the No. 8 wide receiver and the No. 7 player in Florida, per 247Sports Composite. However, his status constantly changes, with his rankings having been as high as a top-40 player in the country to as low as the No. 88 national recruit.

The 175-pound receiver is extremely impressive after the catch, utilizing his speed and agility to escape defenders — posting a 10.64 in the 100-meter dash for track and field.

Burroughs was always seen as an exceptional player coming out of Jacksonville, Florida, seeing playing time on the field as a freshman for the Bolles Bulldogs. He instantly impacted the squad, catching 36 balls for 659 yards and seven touchdowns in thirteen games.

His impressive first year was followed up by a sophomore season full of offers and interest, breaking out for 1,019 yards and 15 touchdowns on 47 receptions in 14 games, leading his team to the 2023 FHSAA state semifinals. The speedy receiver suffered minor injuries in his junior season — causing him to miss 3 games — but still caught 33 passes for 829 yards (92.1 YPG) and 12 touchdowns en route to a regional finals appearance. Most recently, he was selected to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game and went ballistic, snagging three of his four targets for 93 yards and a touchdown.

Expect to see a lot from this multi-faceted offensive weapon down in Jacksonville this high school season.

Salmin was the second receiver to commit to the Tigers this weekend and boasts a 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame yet still has the speed of a guy like Burroughs, posting a 10.44 100-meter dash in track and field.

He ranks as the No. 189 overall recruit, the No. 31 wide receiver and the No. 5 player in the state of Maryland, per 247Sports Composite. The four-star recruit holds 30 other offers and chose Clemson over schools like Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame and more.

The junior receiver started catching attention following his sophomore season when he recorded 53 receptions for 1,107 yards and 16 touchdowns in ten games played for Woodgrove in Purcellville, Virginia. Unfortunately, there are no records of his statistics from his junior — and final — season at Woodgrove.

Heading into his senior season at The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, Salmin looks to have a big year in football and track after experiencing immense success at Woodgrove.
