Clemson softball looks to stay hot in Tiger Invitational

Clemson will be coming off of a ranked midweek victory as they prepare to host the Tiger Invitational from Friday, February 28th, until Sunday, March 2nd.

The Tiger Invitational will include Indiana, Lafayette, East Carolina and Clemson. All games will be held at McWhorter Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina. Though the Tigers have faced Indiana, they will be taking on Lafayette and East Carolina for the first time in the program’s young history.

Clemson will open the tournament with a double header on Friday, starting at 12:30 p.m. when they take on Lafayette, and concluding with a 3 p.m. matchup against East Carolina. The Tigers will wrap up pool play on Saturday at 3 p.m. when they take on Indiana. Each of Clemson’s pool play games will be broadcasted via ACC Network Extra.

The four teams will be seeded based on record, and will conduct another game on Sunday, with the 4 seed and 3 seed playing at 10 a.m., and the 2 seed and the 1 seed will play at 12:30 p.m. in order to declare a winner of the tournament.

The Tigers have heated up as of late, as they have won their last 7 games, including a recent win against No. 11 Georgia, 5-3. They have been resilient following their slow start to the 2025 campaign, winning just 3 of their first 9 games.

Clemson has done significantly better at home in the early stages of the season, as they are a perfect 5-0 at McWhorter Stadium. Meanwhile, they are 4-6 away from Clemson.

The Clemson softball program is just one win away from eclipsing 200 total wins. The program is currently on pace to be the second quickest Clemson sport to 200 wins, behind just Men’s Soccer.

After the Tiger Invitational, the Clemson softball team will remain in Clemson for a Tuesday midweek matchup with Furman at 6 p.m.
