Clemson University junior outfielder Cam Cannarella has been named to the 2025 Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list, an honor presented annually by USA Baseball to the nation’s top amateur baseball player. Cannarella went to Hartsville High School, where he distinguished himself by being named the Morning News Baseball Player of the Year in both his junior and senior years, highlighting his remarkable skill and commitment to the game.
Cannarella made a significant impact as a freshman for the Clemson Tigers, starting all 59 games and quickly becoming a key player. He achieved an impressive .388 batting average, along with a .462 on-base percentage and a .560 slugging percentage. Throughout the season, he hit seven home runs, drove in 47 RBIs, and stole 24 bases in 250 at-bats. His outstanding performances earned him Freshman All-American honors, an All-ACC selection, and the prestigious ACC Freshman of the Year award.
