The game kicked off with FAU’s offense striking early. In the bottom of the second inning, the Owls’ leadoff batter launched a solo home run on the very first pitch, giving FAU a 1-0 lead. The inning progressed with three singles, enabling the Owls to increase their advantage to 2-0.

Senior Alex Brown led off with a walk, followed by junior Jamison Brockenbrough’s single, placing runners on first and second with one out. Both players moved up a base on a wild pitch, setting the scene for sophomore Julia Knowler, who delivered a sacrifice fly to left field, allowing Brown to score. Brockenbrough also made it home due to a throwing error, narrowing FAU’s lead to 6-2.

In the sixth inning, freshman Marian Collins got a single, and senior Aby Vieira reached base on an error. They both advanced to scoring position on a passed ball. With two outs, pinch hitter Riley Fennell was hit by a pitch, loading the bases. However, the Tigers couldn’t take advantage of the situation, as FAU secured the final out with a throw to second.
