Clemson Tigers aim to extend impressive ACC win streak

It’s time for GRIT After Dark. The Clemson Tigers will match up with Georgia Tech on Tuesday at 9 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum for another ACC matchup. Clemson will be looking to extend their current win streak.

The Tigers (18-4, 10-1 ACC) have won 6 in a row, helping to propel them to second place in the conference, behind only No. 2 Duke who they will see in Littlejohn Coliseum later this weekend.

The Yellowjackets (10-12, 4-7 ACC) are stumbling into this contest having lost 5 of their last 7 matchups. However, they are coming off of a conference victory against Louisville, and will be looking to gain some much needed momentum within the conference.

Clemson is led by head coach Brad Brownell, who just recently secured his 450th career win, marking a milestone in the coach’s career.

On the court, the Tigers are led by star player Chase Hunter. He has shined all season long, averaging 17.2 points per game and 2.4 assists per game. He has tallied as high as 30 points in one game this season. Forward Ian Schiefflin has also played a pivotal role in the Tigers success this season, as he averages 12.4 points per game and 9.5 rebounds.

The Yellowjackets are led by Lance Terry, a guard who records an average of 15.8 points per game. The Tigers have the slight advantage in team points per game, as they average 77 to Georgia Tech’s 74.5.

Clemson Basketball is embracing the late start time of this matchup, providing a “GRIT After Dark” shirt to each of the first one-thousand students to enter Littlejohn Coliseum. These shirts will also be available for all fans, as they are also available in certain ticket packages.

The Tigers have had some monumental moments in some “GRIT After Dark” games, most notably when they took down Kentucky, who was ranked No. 4 at the time. That contest began at 9:30 p.m. Clemson will also be able to enjoy the comfort of home for the foreseeable future, as their next three matchups will all take place in Littlejohn Coliseum.

If the Tigers can find a way to fend off the Yellowjackets, then they will remain in second place in the conference, with a critical matchup against No. 2 Duke looming this weekend.
