The Clemson Football schedule for the 2025 season has been released and contains several marquee matchups, a favorable home slate, and a dreaded return to Friday night football.
While game times are not available, the Tigers’ home and away matchups are now set and will offer fans a chance to see compelling games at Death Valley in the fall with Clemson Football projected to be among the best teams in the country.
Clemson, of course, opens its season on August 30th at home against LSU, another team experts believe could be a play-off contender in 2025. It is the first time that the Tigers have opened the season with a true home game since 2019, and Clemson Football is 12-5 against SEC opponents in the College Football Play-off era.
Next up is Troy in the second straight home game to open the season. The Tigers are 2-0 against Troy all time with those wins coming in 2011 and 2016. Following that match-up, Clemson will take to the road for the first time to face a much-improved Georgia Tech program before returning home to Memorial Stadium to take on Syracuse in a match-up between Swinney and Fran Brown, who boldly proclaimed his Orange helped secure the Tigers’ spot in the 2024 ACC Championship game.
Clemson goes back on the road on October 4th and 11th to face North Carolina and Boston College respectively. Against the Tar Heels and new head coach Bill Belichick, it is possibly the first time in history that a coach who has won two college national championships and the other who has won multiple Super Bowl titles in the NFL have faced off in a college football game. The Tigers currently hold a six-game winning streak in the series. Against Boston College, Clemson Football is 5-0 in Chestnut Hill since 2011.
And then, a true marquee contest when Clemson returns to Death Valley on October 18th to take on the SMU Mustangs, the team who the Tigers defeated in an instant classic to win the 2024 ACC championship. It marks the first of three straight home games for Clemson Football, with the SMU contest to be followed by games with Duke on November 1st and Florida State on the 8th.
The 2025 season also sees the Tigers return to Friday night action for the first time in years, and Clemson will take on Louisville in their final conference road game of the season on Friday, November 14th. The Cardinals handed Clemson Football one of their worst defeats last season at Memorial Stadium, 33-21 and playing on Friday has not been kind to the Tigers who lost to Syracuse in such a game in 2017.
Clemson finishes their home slate with an FCS match-up against Furman on November 22nd and then ends the season with a much-anticipated Palmetto Bowl against South Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium on November 29th, a game that will pit dynamic quarterbacks Cade Klubnik and LaNorris Sellers against one another after last season’s slugfest between the two.
Once again, Clemson will have two bye dates during the season. The first comes on September 27th following the Syracuse game, and the second off week is scheduled for October 25th after playing SMU.
The 2025 schedule for Clemson Football is chock full of great matchups and a terrific bevy of home games for Tiger fans to enjoy at Death Valley. Clemson looks the part of a team ready to once again contend for a national championship and they will have many opportunities to prove their worth. With lots of excitement surrounding the team for the upcoming season, there is a lot to look forward to in Tiger Town.
