Head coach Mike Noonan of the Clemson men’s soccer has officially announced the addition of seven new players to the men’s soccer program. The new recruits—Xander Sevian, Cooper Hineline, Abdou Mane, Seamus Streelman, Augustine Asante, Reid Raintree, and Kwaku Agyabeng—bring a wealth of talent and diverse backgrounds to the team, promising to strengthen an already competitive squad.
Kwaku Agyabeng
Kwaku Agyabeng, a midfielder from Kumasi, Ghana, joins the Tigers from St. Benedict’s Prep in New Jersey, where he led his team to two state titles and two national championships. Agyabeng’s stellar performance on the field earned him a spot on the 2024 first-team all-state and all-region lists. He also played for Cedar Stars Academy, helping them secure two national titles. Off the field, Agyabeng was a consistent member of his high school honor roll.
When asked why he chose Clemson, Agyabeng shared, “I chose Clemson because of their outstanding soccer program and the welcoming environment. Additionally, their strong academic reputation was a significant factor for me.”
Reid Raintree
Reid Raintree, a midfielder from Aiken, South Carolina, is a highly rated three-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer. Raintree was named All-State and Region Player of the Year in 2024, along with being a three-time all-region selection from Aiken High School. In 2023, he was named MVP of the Capital City Cup. Off the field, Raintree is a member of the National Honor Society and earned the Cambridge AICE Diploma. He played for South Carolina United FC before joining Clemson.
Reflecting on his decision to join the Tigers, Raintree said, “It’s the best soccer school in the country. It’s close to home, and it has a great engineering program.”
Seamus Streelman
Seamus Streelman, a defender from Atlanta, Georgia, brings both athletic talent and academic prowess to Clemson. Streelman played for Midtown High School and club soccer with Atlanta United. Ranked as a three-star recruit by Top Drawer Soccer, Streelman is also a member of the National Honor Society. His sister, Archer, plays soccer at Cal, and his father, Todd, played lacrosse at Bucknell. Streelman will be studying sports communication at Clemson.
Streelman expressed his excitement about joining Clemson, saying, “There are excellent athletic and academic opportunities, along with the exceptional team environment.”
Cooper Hineline
Midfielder Cooper Hineline hails from Denver, Colorado, and joins the Tigers from Ralston Valley High School. Hineline was a standout player, participating in the 2024 IMG Academy All-Star Game and earning First Team All-State honors in 2022 and 2023. He was also named to the 2023 MLS Next Cup Team of the Tournament. Hineline played for Real Colorado and is a three-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.
On his decision to come to Clemson, Hineline said, “I chose Clemson because of the great players and staff the team has, the student-athlete experience that the school provides, and all the benefits from the campus and the Clemson community.”
Xander Sevian
Xander Sevian, a forward from Boulder, Colorado, brings offensive firepower to the Clemson attack. Sevian, who also played for Real Colorado, participated in the U17 MLS Next Cup Team of the Tournament and the 2023 IMG Academy Showcase All-Star game. He joins the Tigers from Boulder High School and is the son of Caleb and Charity Sevian.
Sevian shared his reasons for selecting Clemson, saying, “I chose Clemson because of a mix of great coaching, a great team, a beautiful campus, a great school, and lastly, good competition and a good environment to grow.”
Abdou Mane
Midfielder Abdou Mane joins Clemson from Dakar, Senegal, and comes to the Tigers from Montverde Academy. While Mane has yet to make a public statement about his decision, his impressive background at Montverde Academy has caught the attention of the coaching staff, promising to make an immediate impact on Clemson’s midfield.
When asked about his choice, Mane simply stated, “Clemson is a great school with a great soccer program.”
Augustine Asante
Defender Augustine Asante, also from Kumasi, Ghana, joins the Tigers from Montverde Academy. Asante, who is the son of Samuel Owusu, will bring defensive strength to the Clemson backline. Like Mane, Asante has yet to publicly elaborate on his reasons for choosing Clemson, but his development at Montverde Academy highlights his potential to contribute to the Tigers’ success.
Asante reflected on his choice, saying, “I chose Clemson because I believe Clemson can help me develop myself.”
With these seven additions, Coach Mike Noonan’s squad looks poised for an exciting future. Each player brings a unique skill set to the table, and with a diverse range of backgrounds from across the U.S. and the globe, the 2025 season promises to be a thrilling one for the Clemson Tigers.
