In a thrilling finish to the 2024 ACC Championship game, Clemson freshman kicker Nolan Hauser etched his name into the record books with a stunning 56-yard field goal as time expired. The kick, which secured a 34-31 victory over SMU and delivered the ACC title to Clemson, set a new record for the longest field goal in an ACC Championship game. Hauser’s clutch performance not only clinched the conference crown but also put Clemson in the College Football Playoff, where they will play the Texas Longhorns. Following his heroic feat, Hauser appeared on the ACC Network’s ACC PM show Monday (12/09/24), where he discussed his journey to Clemson and the emotions he experienced during that unforgettable moment.
“Man, it was awesome, just overwhelming support. I had a ton of family there and I felt bad cause I kept asking for tickets throughout the whole week and I don’t want to take anybody else’s, but you know, just being back home, had some coaches there and some coaches that I had in high school and all growing up were there and just seeing people just so happy and it’s really what you do it for.”
