The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, is one of college football’s most prestigious honors for quarterbacks. Being selected as a Star of the Week puts Klubnik in elite company and validates his emergence as one of the top QBs in the nation early in the 2024 season.

Klubnik, a native of Austin, Texas, arrived at Clemson as one of the most highly touted quarterback recruits in the country. He quickly lived up to the hype, being named to the Manning Award preseason watch list prior to the 2024 campaign.

In just his second year as a starter, Klubnik is already racking up the accolades. In addition to the Manning Award recognition, he was also named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 list for Week 2, another honor spotlighting the top quarterback performances across college football.

Against Pitt, Klubnik showcased his dynamic dual-threat abilities, burning the Panthers through the air and on the ground. His 50-yard touchdown scamper in the 4th quarter proved to be the winning score.

On the season, he has completed 63.4% of his passes for 2,563 yards and 26 TDs against just 4 interceptions, while rushing for 341 yards and 5 more scores.

Klubnik credits much of his success to his experience at the Manning Passing Academy over the summer, where he was able to learn from Peyton and Eli Manning and other top college QBs. That additional training is paying big dividends now as he pilots Clemson’s high-powered offense.

With the Tigers sitting at 8-2 and ranked in the top 20, Klubnik will need to elevate his game even further and put together more complete performances week in and week out for Clemson to achieve its goals. The Tigers also need some help from one of Miami’s opponents. A Hurricanes loss in one of their next two conference games would open the door for Clemson to reach the ACC Championship Game.

If they can get there and emerge victorious, a spot in the College Football Playoff will be within reach. Klubnik has shown flashes of brilliance, but more consistency will be key for the Tigers’ postseason aspirations.

For now, he’ll aim to keep improving his game as he tries to lead Clemson on a championship run as one of college football’s brightest young quarterbacks.
