The reigning national and ACC champions, Clemson men’s soccer, is ready to defend its titles ahead of a new season, with the schedule and events released.
The team will begin its season at Historic Riggs Field against Penn State on Aug. 22. Before the opening match, Clemson United will unveil its fourth national championship banner, their first since the 2021 season. Following their first game is their rivalry game, where they will travel to Stone Stadium to face South Carolina.
Around the ACC, the Tigers will host newly-added Stanford, Wake Forest, North Carolina and Syracuse, while facing Boston College, Louisville, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame away from home. It will be the first time that Clemson faces the Fighting Irish since the national championship game, where the Tigers won their fourth star.
Out-of-conference games include home games against Loyola-Maryland, Liberty, Queens, USC Upstate and Wofford. They will face Holy Cross away.
In terms of events, the team’s Alumni Weekend will take place on September 20th, when they face Wake Forest. During this weekend, the team will honor the 1984 national championship winning team, the 2014 ACC Tournament champions, and the 2019 conference champions.
With almost two weeks until the season begins, head coach Mike Noonan and his squad will hope to find enough success to go back-to-back years with national titles, which will be the first time since Stanford won from 2015-2017 in three consecutive seasons.
