Class of 2026: Top 20 LB Anthony Davis receives offer from Clemson Football

Clemson Football and Coach Swinney have now sent out their sixth offer for the linebacker position in the Class of 2026.

Anthony Davis, a four-star top 20 linebacker prospect from Loganville, Georgia, visited Clemson for the first time this past Tuesday and left with an offer.

The six-foot-one, 200-pound Sophomore ranks as the No. 234 player nationally, the No. 20 player at his position, and the No. 26 player in the state of Georgia, per 247Sports.

He plays alongside Tyler Atkinson, the No. 1 linebacker and No. 9 player in the country, per 247Sports, who was also offered by Clemson at Grayson High School.

The outside linebacker didn’t play much during his freshman year on varsity, understandably, as Grayson went 10-3 and made it to the Quarterfinals of the 7A GHSA Playoffs. But he’s been gaining traction throughout his entire sophomore campaign after posting 67 total tackles, six tackles for a loss, three and a half sacks, one interception, and one pass deflection. However, the Grayson Rams eventually fell short in the semi-finals of the playoffs but still finished the season ranked No. 44 in the nation, per MaxPreps.

It’s clear why Davis is such a highly touted prospect as he excels in pass rush and in coverage, seeming to already have a natural instinct and awareness for plays. What also makes him such a versatile backer is that he’s an extremely gifted athlete who is able to use his speed and frame to make open field tackles, stops in the backfield, even pass deflections and interceptions.

But, with Clemson being Davis’ most recent offer and him announcing his top 12 soon, they might need to send the house for him, considering Auburn hosted him for an unofficial visit already and was just the third school to offer him back in the summer of 2023. He has other offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas, among others.
