Clemson Softball Welcomes Katie Repole to Coaching Staff

Clemson softball head coach John Rittman announced an exciting new addition to his coaching staff for the 2024-25 season. Katie Repole, known by her nickname “Crash,” will be joining the Tigers as an assistant coach.

“We are excited to welcome Katie to the Clemson family,” said Coach Rittman. “She is exactly what we needed with this hire. She brings an incredible resume and extensive experience in the recruiting space after working with many great coaches and players over her career. Her excitement around finding the next generation of Clemson softball players along with her ability to develop and coach defense will help our program to continue to grow for years to come. I have no doubt she will be a great addition to our staff.”

Repole brings a wealth of experience from her playing and coaching career. As a player, she started her collegiate career at Illinois before transferring to Louisiana-Lafayette, where she was a key contributor at third base for the nationally-ranked Ragin’ Cajuns.

Her coaching journey has taken her to several prestigious programs. Repole served as an assistant coach at Virginia, working with outfielders and hitters while also acting as recruiting coordinator. She then made a stop at Texas A&M as a volunteer assistant, notably helping develop SEC Player and Freshman of the Week Bre Warren. Most recently, Repole was an assistant coach at South Carolina.

“First, I would like to thank Coach Rittman for the opportunity to join the Clemson family,” said Repole. “I’m truly humbled and honored. In just five short seasons, Coach Rittman and his staff have built a program that consistently competes on the national stage! Clemson is a place where you can have it all: a world class education, a chance to win championships and a family-first environment. I’m looking forward to getting out on the recruiting trails and finding future Tigers!”

Repole’s addition is expected to pay dividends in several areas. Her keen eye for talent as a recruiter will help the Tigers consistently bring in top prospects. And her proven skills in player development, as evidenced by her work with Bre Warren at Texas A&M, will be crucial for getting the most out of Clemson’s roster.

Perhaps most importantly, Repole’s passion for building a championship culture aligns perfectly with the vision Rittman has established at Clemson. With “Crash” on board, the Tigers are well-positioned to make some noise in the ACC and nationally in the coming seasons.

The hiring of Katie Repole demonstrates Clemson’s commitment to putting together an elite coaching staff to guide the softball program to new heights. Tiger fans have reason to be excited about the future with Repole bringing her talents to Tigertown.
