After missing out on top prospect David Sanders Jr, Clemson Football was due for good luck sooner or later.
Jordan Young, the No. 89 player and No. 9 safety in the class of 2025, according to 247Sports, announced his top four finalist schools.
The finalists for the highly received prospect are Clemson, NC State, Michigan, and Florida State.
Clemson Football and Coach Swinney have had their eyes on Young for a while now as he attended the Clemson Tigers camp and received an offer within the same week in June of 2023. Since then, he’s returned three more times, more than any other school. He came back for Junior Day, an unofficial visit, and an official visit.
The six-foot, 184-pound safety has been crystal-balled to Clemson by multiple lead experts for 247Sports, appearing to be the heavy favorite for the defensive playmaker.
However, NC State and Florida State have been recruiting Young for a while as well. NC State was Young’s first offer, and he has visited Raleigh three times so far, most recently in June. Florida State was his thirteenth offer, and have kept in touch, with him returning to Tallahassee two separate times. Michigan is his most recent offer, but they still made the cut as he took an official visit to the defending National Champions a little over two weeks ago.
Stay tuned to find out where Young commits to on October 12th, 2024.
