Clemson Lacrosse Reloads with Impressive Grad Transfer Class

The Clemson Women’s Lacrosse team is gearing up for a big 2024-25 season, thanks in large part to an infusion of talent and experience from the transfer portal. Head coach Allison Kwolek and her staff have signed five accomplished graduate transfers who are poised to make an immediate impact for the Tigers.

Leading the incoming class is midfielder Bridget Babcock, a five-year letter winner from Cornell. Babcock earned All-Ivy second-team honors last season while serving as a team captain. She’s a dynamic two-way player, equally adept at scoring (18 goals in 2024) and facilitating (14 assists).

“Bridget is the type of player every coach wants to build a team around,” said Kwolek. “She’s a proven leader with an all-around skill set that will elevate our midfield unit from day one.”

Joining Babcock in the midfield is Maggie Jordan, a four-year standout at Richmond where she initially played under Kwolek. Jordan collected Atlantic 10 All-Conference second-team accolades last season along with a Defensive Player of the Week nod. Her defensive prowess (18 caused turnovers, 13 ground balls) and transition game make her an ideal fit for Clemson’s aggressive style.

On attack, the Tigers add two accomplished scorers in Lexi Edmonds (Penn) and Lindsey Marshall (Towson). Edmonds, a New Jersey native, tallied 12 goals and a pair of hat tricks last season. Marshall earned All-CAA second-team honors after a 52-point campaign. She ranked second on her team in both goals (42) and assists (10).

Rounding out the class is midfielder Bryce Pfundstein, who arrives in Clemson after stints at Ohio State and Johns Hopkins. The Annapolis product is a ground ball vacuum and caused turnover machine. Pfundstein will be joined by her younger sister Camryn, a rising sophomore who saw action in 11 games for the Tigers last year.

In total, the five grad transfers have combined for five all-conference selections in their careers. They hail from lacrosse hotbeds like Maryland, New Hampshire and New Jersey. Kwolek believes this battle-tested group will mesh well with her talented freshman class that includes two top-50 recruits.

If the pieces come together as envisioned, Clemson could be a force to be reckoned with next spring. Tiger fans have reason to be excited for lacrosse season.
