Blake Wright makes Golden Spikes Award Semifinalist List

Clemson baseball third baseman Blake Wright continues his excellent senior season with another national honor, being named a Golden Spikes semifinalist on Monday.

The Golden Spikes Award is given to the top amateur player in the country, and it is awarded by USA Baseball. Wright is the only Tiger to make the list of 25 semifinalists.

The accolade comes as deserved, as Wright has had an incredible season both offensively and defensively. The third baseman finished the regular season with a .341 batting average, hitting 21 homers and 70 RBIs. He has been the only Tiger to play all 53 games this season.

In addition, Wright has a .961 fielding percentage while splitting time between second and third base.

It is not the first national honor for the senior, who was named as a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, which is another national honor to the top player of the year.

Wright will hope to continue his efficient production as a player and a leader as Clemson heads into the ACC Tournament to defend their 2023 title.
