Clemson Baseball Dominates Boston College on Senior Day

Adian Knaak and Blake Wright Shine in Victory Over Eagles

The No. 4 Clemson baseball team concluded their regular season with a resounding 10-0 victory over Boston College on Senior Day at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Freshman righthander Aidan Knaak was nothing short of spectacular on the mound. In one of his best performances of the season, Knaak delivered a career-high 11 strikeouts across six scoreless innings. His efforts earned him a well-deserved fifth win of the season, improving his record to 5-1.

Complementing Knaak’s dominant start, Lucas Mahlstedt took the mound for the final two innings, maintaining the shutout with a flawless performance. Mahlstedt’s efficient closing ensured Boston College had no opportunity to mount a comeback, sealing the game and the series sweep for the Tigers.

On the other side, Boston College’s starter Michael Farinelli faced significant challenges. Farinelli, now 0-6 for the season, struggled to find his rhythm, allowing two hits, two runs, and four walks over five laborious innings. Despite his efforts, Clemson’s disciplined batting lineup capitalized on his missteps, ultimately leading to his early exit from the game.

Clemson’s offense was equally formidable, meticulously manufacturing runs through a combination of strategic hitting and aggressive baserunning. The scoring commenced in the fifth inning with Blake Wright’s sacrifice fly, setting the tone for the Tigers’ offensive explosion. Wright continued to shine in the seventh inning with his 21st home run of the season, a towering solo shot that electrified the home crowd and extended Clemson’s lead.

Jacob Jarrell and Nolan Nawrocki added to the scoreboard in the sixth inning, with Jarrell delivering a crucial run-scoring single and Nawrocki following with a sacrifice fly. In the seventh, the Tigers’ relentless attack produced additional runs, highlighted by Tristan Bissetta’s RBI single.

The eighth inning saw Clemson’s lineup continue to apply pressure. Cam Cannarella lined a sharp two-run single, showcasing the depth and versatility of the Tigers’ batting order. Jarrell’s bases-loaded walk brought the game to a merciful end, capping off a dominant display that underscored Clemson’s offensive depth and strategic execution.
