Dominate Clemson Center PJ Hall Named a Finalist for 2024 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award

Clemson basketball senior P.J. Hall has been named a finalist for a prestigious college basketball award.

Hall was named one of five finalists for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year award, given to the nation’s top center. The award is, of course, named after Abdul-Jabbar, a 1995 Hall of Fame inductee, and has been awarded each of the past 10 seasons. It would be a deserving honor for a player who has been among the most dominant at his position during the 2023-24 season.

Hall is one of only four players in the country averaging 18.5 points, 7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game. Hall has scored 20 or more points 13 times this season and has reached double figures 29 times along with recording seven double-doubles.

P.J. Hall is second in the ACC in scoring, averaging 18.8 points per game along with seven rebounds.

The other four nominees are Ryan Kalkbrenner from Creighton, Hunter Dickinson of Kansas, Armando Bacot from North Carolina, and reigning National Player of the Year Zach Edey of Purdue.

Hall left a strong impression, even in defeat, scoring 18 points in the Tigers’ regular season finale at Wake Forest on Saturday night.

Hall, who is from Spartanburg and played high school basketball at Dorman High in Roebuck, has been a constant for Clemson Basketball as they are primed to make a return to the 2024 NCAA tournament. Fans who want to support Hall can vote as well. Once all fan votes are counted, it will count as one committee vote in the election process. The link for fans to cast their vote for Hall is here:

The winner of the 2024 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award will be presented at a later date and time to be determined. In the meantime, voting is open so cast your ballot for P.J. Hall.
