Joseph Girard III, PJ Hall, and Chase Hunter dominated in a 93-58 win
In a spectacular end to 2023 and the non-conference schedule, the Clemson men’s basketball team dominated Radford with a resounding 93-58 victory on Friday night.
Guided by Joseph Girard III from Glens Falls, N.Y., who showcased his skills with 24 points on an impressive 8-for-11 shooting, including four successful three-pointers. Girard not only contributed on the scoreboard but also secured four rebounds and delivered three assists.
PJ Hall from Spartanburg, S.C., and Chase Hunter from Atlanta, Ga., combined their efforts to score 33 points, with Hunter leading the game with five assists. RJ Godfrey from Suwanee, Ga., also hit double figures, concluding the game with 10 points.
Ian Schieffelin from Loganville, Ga., continued his outstanding performance, grabbing over 10 rebounds for the seventh time this season and finishing with a total of 13. His dominance included four offensive rebounds, showcasing his pivotal role for the Tigers.
Clemson initiated the game with an impressive start, accumulating a 49-point first half and securing a commanding 26-point lead after the opening stanza.
The team’s shooting prowess was evident as they achieved a remarkable 70.4 percent shooting in the final period, marking their second consecutive game with a 70.0 percent shooting half, ultimately overpowering the Highlanders.
Nine Tigers made significant contributions to the scoring column, highlighting the team’s depth, and for the 12th consecutive game, Clemson demonstrated superior teamwork by producing more assists than turnovers (14-13).
In a dominating display, Clemson outrebounded Radford by an astounding 32 (45-13), a margin that now ties for fourth all-time in program history.
Looking ahead, the Tigers are set to return to the court on January 3, 2024, as they embark on the ACC schedule with a matchup against Miami (Fla.) at 8 p.m., airing on ESPN.
