Clemson’s 2024 Recruiting Class: Defensive linemen Champ Thompson and Hevin Brown-Shuler

The Clemson Tigers have brought in another impressive interior defensive line class in 2024. Three-star Champ Thompson and four-star Heavin Brown-Shuler are great pickups for Coach Nick Eason in the 2024 cycle.

Champ Thompson

Thompson was the fourth commit for Clemson’s 2024 class, and he is without a doubt a stud at the defensive tackle position. He has 15 offers, including Alabama and Florida State. Thompson has great size at 6-foot-3 inches and 275 pounds. He shows elite ability to stop the run and also is good at getting to the quarterback.

Thompson is yet another great pick-up by defensive line coach Nick Eason. Coach Eason has shown his ability to recruit and develop freshmen. Thompson fits this mold as he can make an immediate impact for the Tigers this fall. Thompson is ranked as the 462nd player in the class and the 53rd-best defensive lineman according to 247 Sports.

Hevin Brown-Shuler

Hevin Brown-Shuler is a South Carolina native who committed to Clemson earlier this April. He picked the Tigers over the in-state rival Gamecocks, and he will no doubt have an impact for the Tigers for years to come. He totaled 22 sacks and 66 tackles in his senior season at Pace Academy in Atlanta. He has a total of 42 offers, including Auburn, Florida State, and Georgia.

Brown-Shuler is ranked as the 294th player in the class and the 36th-best defensive lineman. He is an underrated prospect as his ranking is a bit low considering the production he’s had in high school. He brings elite pass-rushing ability from the defensive tackle spot. He will no doubt be in opposing teams’ backfields for the next four years as a Clemson Tiger.
