The Clemson Tigers and Dabo Swinney extended an offer to four-star running back Marquise Henderson, a standout in the Tigers’ own backyard.
Henderson, the leading rusher for nearby Belton-Honea Path High School, announced the offer on X (formerly Twitter), on Sunday.
At 5-feet-10 inches and 170 pounds, Henderson runs with both speed and power. During his junior season, he rushed for 2,336 yards and 37 touchdowns, while adding 149 receiving yards and two more scores. For his career, Henderson has over 4,500 rushing yards. He helped lead the Bears to the class 3A semifinals this past season.
Among other schools wanting Henderson’s services, he holds offers from Arizona, Boston College, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. He is listed on Rivals as the number two overall recruit in the state of South Carolina for the 2025 cycle.
Clemson already has one elite 2025 running back committed in Gideon Davidson from Virginia, but the importance of depth at the position cannot be understated.
