Clemson Flips Offensive Lineman Watson Young

Clemson picked up a huge commitment on Sunday evening from local offensive line standout Watson Young.

Young, a three-star lineman who just won a state championship playing for Daniel High School, de-committed from Appalachian State before making his pledge to the Tigers.

Young is a Clemson legacy recruit. His uncle, and longtime Greer High School head football coach Will Young, played for Clemson. Watson will continue that family lineage.

At 6-foot-3 inches and 280 pounds, Young will bolster a Clemson offensive line that struggled early during the 2023 season but has come on strong of late. He is another solid pick-up late in the current recruiting cycle.

Watson was an all-state selection in 2022 and figures to be again, as well as a two-time state champion for the Lions.
