Dabo Swinney is changing around his coaching staff.
Earlier today, a press release by Clemson football stated that offensive line coach Thomas Austin and defensive ends coach Lemanski Hall have been let go from the Clemson coaching staff for the 2024 season, as Swinney looks for new and improved experience for his squad.
Austin served as the offensive line coach for the past two seasons with the Tigers, serving seven total seasons with Clemson before being let go on Thursday. He previously served as an interim tight ends coach and served in some off-field roles as well.
“I love Thomas and his entire family, and Thomas has been a great representative of Clemson University and Clemson Football in every role — as a player, as a support staff member and as a coach,” Swinney said in a press release. “It is my responsibility as head coach to make difficult decisions that I believe are in the best interest of our football program and the young men that comprise it.”

Hall has been with the Tigers since 2015, becoming the permanent coach of the defensive ends in 2018. He has coached a plethora of Clemson standouts that have served on the line over the past five years, and continued to develop the young players that play on it now.
“Lemanski Hall and I met and had a great conversation about his future and long-term goals both personally and professionally, and after great thought and discussion, we came to a mutual decision for him to seek opportunities to advance his career elsewhere,” Swinney said about his former Alabama teammate.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have been able to accomplish here,” Hall commented. “I am so thankful for all of the young men that have been in our program, and I hope I’ve been able to impact them as positively as they have impacted me. I am excited to see what God has in store for me and my family moving forward.”

There has not been a statement on who will fill in these roles, or even take over these jobs in Clemson’s bowl game later this year.
