Clemson Baseball Heach Coach Erick Bakich

See the 2024 Tigers in Action This Fall at Doug Kingsmore Stadium!

If you’ve been keeping an eye on Clemson baseball, you’ll know the name Erik Bakich. Named Clemson’s 28th head coach in June 2022, Bakich has already left an indelible mark on Tigertown. In his first season, he led the team to an ACC championship, proving that he’s not just another face in the dugout. He’s a game-changer.

When Bakich stepped onto the Clemson turf, there was a palpable shift in the air. The kind of shift that happens when someone with vision and determination takes the helm. Bakich, with his wealth of experience and passion for the game, was just the man Clemson needed to shake things up.

In 2023, under Bakich’s leadership, the Tigers roared to victory, clinching the ACC Championship. The Tigers also saw Cam Cannarella named as the 2023 ACC Freshman-of-the-Year, a First-Team All-ACC selection, and a first-team freshman All-American. Talk about a season to remember!

Clemson Baseball prepares for Fall Training

As we dive into the fall training season, Bakich’s second year at the helm promises more excitement. The Tigers are returning with 21 lettermen from the championship-winning team, and if that doesn’t scream “dominance,” I don’t know what does.

With a series of scrimmages scheduled, including the Clemson Super Regional and Clemson Regional scrimmages, the Tigers are poised to bring their A-game. What’s more, these scrimmages are open to the public, allowing fans to get a front-row seat to witness Bakich’s magic in action.

But hold onto your baseball caps, folks. The Tigers are also scheduled to play two scrimmages against outside competition this fall, both on the road. First up, they’ll face Coastal Carolina on October 14th, followed by East Carolina on the 15th. And yes, these games are free and open to the public too.

Bakich’s leadership has been a breath of fresh air, bringing a renewed sense of hope and excitement to Clemson baseball. His commitment to the team and the game is evident in every play and every victory. As they say in baseball, it’s not over until it’s over. And with Bakich at the helm, it seems like the best is yet to come for Clemson baseball.
