Clemson Football Gets Active On First Day in Full Pads

The first day of full pads for Clemson Football was today at Jervey Meadows across the street from the indoor facility, it was early morning so the Tigers were waking up to Sophmore QB Cade Klubnik telling everyone to wake up and let’s go get it done.

Will Shipley’s hard work and toughness haven’t been a surprise to anyone here at fall camp as today from the first play of practice he broke thru the middle for a long run to get things going. On the other side of the ball on the next play, true freshman Peter Woods makes a big tackle to catch everyone’s eyes.

Freshman Noble Johnson stood out to me the most. As a wide receiver, he embodies the qualities of hard work and grit that define a true player. He will definitely be on the field and be a problem to a lot of defenses. A notable statement that was very surprising was backup QB Hunter Helms was in a boot( sprained foot out 2-3 weeks – per source) but still fully padded, so I don’t know how serious the injury, but graduate QB Paul Tyson was running 2nd team offense with Hunter Helms being limited.

Something we were not expecting was Coach Eason was fully padded at practice with the players giving that normal Coach Eason energy, running pre-practice drills and hitting as well.

Wrapping up today’s wet and early full-padded practice at Jervey Meadows, the Tigers are eager to take the field and face opponents other than their own teammates. After concluding today’s practice, the Tigers will embark on their annual team lake day during fall camp.
