Clemson Baseball Comes From Behind to Beat Louisville 6-3

Clemson Tigers put on an impressive display to come from behind and defeat the Louisville Cardinals 6-3 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday afternoon. It was an exhilarating game, and the Tigers proved why they are a force to reckon with in the ACC.

The game got off to a slow start, but JT Benson’s two-out double in the third inning broke the deadlock to give the Cardinals an early lead. However, Clemson tied the score in the fourth inning on an error, and the game remained tied at 1-1 until the top of the sixth inning.

Louisville’s Eddie King Jr. then belted a two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning to give the Cardinals a 3-1 lead. It was a massive hit that silenced the Clemson faithful, who had been hoping for a quick response from their team. But the Tigers were not ready to give up yet.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Clemson’s Billy Amick responded with a two-run homer, his seventh of the season, to tie the game at 3-3. It was a critical moment that breathed new life into the Tigers and the fans.

Then in the seventh inning, the Tigers took the lead for the first time in the game. Will Taylor drew a bases-loaded walk, and Caden Grice was hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded to double the Tigers’ lead. Amick added a sacrifice fly in the frame to give Clemson a commanding 6-3 lead.

Clemson’s batters were on fire in this game, and they finished with an impressive 15 hits. It was a collective effort, and everyone played their part in securing the win. Cooper Ingle extended his hitting streak to 17 games in the fifth inning, and his contribution was crucial.

On the pitching side, Reed Garris was outstanding, and he earned the win in relief. He pitched 1.2 hitless and scoreless innings, which helped to keep the Cardinals at bay. Ryan Ammons also played his part by pitching 1.1 innings to record his third save of the year. They were the unsung heroes of this game, and their efforts were critical in securing the win for the Tigers.

The Cardinals will be disappointed with the result, and they have some work to do if they want to bounce back in the series. Kayden Campbell, who suffered the loss, will be looking to make amends in the upcoming games.

The Tigers, on the other hand, will be delighted with the win, and it sets them up nicely for the rest of the series. They have now taken a 1-0 lead, and they will be hoping to build on this momentum in the upcoming games.

The series continues on Saturday at 2 p.m. on ACC Network Extra, and it promises to be another exciting game. The Tigers will be looking to build on their win, while the Cardinals will be hoping to bounce back. It’s a must-win game for both teams, and we can expect nothing less than a thrilling encounter.
