Clemson’s baseball team secured a 6-3 series victory over No. 11 ranked Boston College in a game held at Harrington Athletics Village. Caden Grice delivered an outstanding performance, leading the Tigers to victory. With this win, Clemson clinched a 2-1 series win over Boston College, improving their overall record to 28-17 and their ACC record to 11-10. On the other hand, Boston College’s overall record fell to 29-14, and their ACC play record decreased to 13-11.
Caden Grice, the star pitcher of the game, pitched for eight innings, striking out nine batters, and allowed only two hits, two runs (one earned), and two walks. This performance was instrumental in helping Clemson to a series victory over Boston College.
Clemson’s offense was also in fine form during the game, scoring six runs on six hits. Billy Amick hit a single with two outs in the first inning, helping the Tigers to score their first run. In the second inning, Cooper Ingle extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a single, followed by Grice’s two-run single, and Amick’s run-scoring double, which helped Clemson score three more runs. Clemson added two more runs in the seventh inning, doubling their lead thanks to a wild pitch and Blake Wright’s sacrifice fly.
Boston College did their best to stage a comeback after falling behind early, scoring a run in the second inning on an error and another run in the sixth inning. Travis Honeyman hit a triple for Boston College’s first hit of the game, and Joe Vetrano hit a run-scoring single.
Clemson will play their next game next Friday against Louisville, beginning a three-game series in Doug Kingsmore stadium.
