On Wednesday, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame’s NFF Hampshire Honor Society recognized three former Clemson Football student-athletes: defensive end K.J. Henry, kicker B.T. Potter, and linebacker Trenton Simpson.
What is the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame’s NFF Hampshire Honor Society, and who can be members of it?
The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame’s NFF Hampshire Honor Society is a recognition program that honors college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA, and sprint football who have maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers and have been starters or significant contributors during the most recent season.
There are two categories of players who can be members of the society: senior players who will graduate this spring/summer and have just completed their final year of playing eligibility in the most recent season, and graduated players who have been out of high school for at least three years.
In 2023, a record-breaking 1,734 players from 328 schools were named to the society. The initiative has honored 16,370 student-athletes since its inception in 2007. The NFF Hampshire Honor Society expands on the NFF’s National Scholar-Athlete program, greatly increasing the number of scholar-athletes the NFF can recognize each year.
