Tigers Dominate Eagles in Doubleheader

The No. 5/5 Clemson Tigers had two consecutive wins against Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts on Friday. Valerie Cagle, Aby Vieira, and McKenzie Clark hit home runs, contributing to Clemson’s victories. In the first game, Clemson won 8-4, and in the second game, they won 7-3. Clemson’s current record is 35-1, with a perfect 11-0 record in ACC play.

During Game 1, Clemson took the lead in the second inning with a single by Aby Vieira and a ground out by Ally Miklesh, bringing in the first run. In the third inning, Clemson regained the lead and secured the victory with two home runs by Valerie Cagle and Aby Vieira.

In Game 2, Clemson had an early 2-0 lead, but Boston College rallied and took a 3-2 lead due to Clemson’s three errors. Clemson tied things up in the fifth inning and regained the lead in the sixth inning with a home run by McKenzie Clark. Clemson held on to win 7-3.

Junior Millie Thompson and sophomore Brooke McCubbin shared pitching duties in Game 1, while junior Regan Spencer and Valerie Cagle pitched in Game 2. Cagle’s performance on the mound helped her earn her 70th career victory and improve her 2023 record to 17-1.
