Clemson and Virginia Look to Break Tie at the Top of the ACC Standings
The ACC season is quickly coming to a close, and the battle for third place in the conference standings is heating up. Currently tied at 13-5, both Clemson and Virginia are jockeying for position as they go into their last two games of the season. Clemson Tigers
The Tigers have been consistent throughout this season, with a record of 18-8 overall. Senior forward Hunter Tyson has been leading the way all year with 15.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Junior guard Chase Hunter has also been contributing 14.3 points per game while providing 4.5 assists per game for his teammates. The team is 5-5 in true road games this season, but their most recent victory was against NC State in Raleigh so they are hoping to build on that momentum going into tonight’s matchup against Virginia.
Virginia Cavaliers
The Cavaliers have had some ups and downs this season, but their overall record stands at 17-8 heading into tonight’s game against Clemson. They are 13-1 at home this season, with their lone loss coming from Houston back in December—a poor showing that they hope not to repeat tonight against the Tigers. Senior forward Sam Hauser leads the team in scoring (15 points per game) and rebounds (7 rebounds per game). Junior guard Kihei Clark brings up the rear with 6 assists per game while pitching in 11 points as well.
