Yesterday, we discussed which freshmen we believed would make the most significant impact in 2023. Today, we will focus on a player who we think needs to have a strong offensive performance for the Tigers to achieve the success Clemson fans are accustomed to, especially after a recent stretch of poor offensive play.
While it would be simple to choose Cade Klubnik as the obvious choice, given his talent, we want to step outside the box. Instead, we will examine the wide receiver who we believe must have a significant year for the Tigers to thrive, and that player is Beaux Collins.
Who is Beaux Collins?
Beaux Collins is a 6’3, 210-pound wide receiver who played in 10 games as a true freshman for Clemson in 2022. Despite missing the last two games of the season due to a shoulder injury, Collins showed glimpses of his potential as a playmaker on the outside, hauling in 22 receptions for 373 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged an impressive 17 yards per catch and showcased his ability to make contested catches with his size and physicality.
Why Beaux Collins is the Key to Clemson’s Offensive Success
In 2023, Clemson will be implementing a new offensive system under the guidance of offensive coordinator Garrett Riley. While Klubnik is expected to be the starting quarterback and will likely play a significant role in the success of the offense, we believe that Collins is the one who needs to step up and be the go-to receiver for the Tigers.
Furthermore, Collins will need to adapt to the new offensive system and build chemistry with Klubnik. While it may take some time for the offense to gel, Collins has the talent and work ethic to make a smooth transition and become a dominant force for the Tigers.
