CLEMSON– As spring football practice for Clemson is about to begin, Clemson Sports Media staff is looking at different aspects of the upcoming 2023 football season. In this article, we will highlight the freshman player who we think will have the most significant impact this season.
Clemson’s highest-rated recruit in the 2023 class, Peter Woods from Alabama, will be an exciting player to watch. He has the versatility to play all along the defensive line, and we believe he will become a rotational piece for Nick Eason and company, establishing himself early in the season.
As part of the next wave of great Clemson defensive linemen, Peter Woods brings a lot of promise to the team. With the return of Ruke Orhorhoro and Tyler Davis along the line, the addition of Peter Woods will provide the Tigers with depth in the defensive tackle position. However, Peter Woods spent time as a defensive end on multiple fronts during his time in high school. With the lack of depth at defensive end, it will be interesting to see if they use Woods in this position more than at defensive tackle.
