In a dominant performance, the Clemson Tigers scored more points in their first win of the month than in any other regulation game this season. Their victory over Florida State also saw them achieve their highest field-goal percentage of the season, making 60.3% of their shots.
Chase Hunter and PJ Hall combined for 38 points, with 16 of the Tigers’ 35 made baskets coming from them. For Hunter, the game marked a return to his offensive form.
After suffering an ankle injury, Hunter had scored a career-high 26 points against Florida State in late January but had struggled in the following three games. He had made only 10 of his 42 shots and was just one for his last 18 attempts from 3-point range. Hunter’s performance against Florida State was a stark contrast, as he started the game by making six of his first seven shots and finished with 18 points and six assists, with just one turnover.
Hall, on the other hand, demonstrated a more extensive range than he had all season, with most of his points coming from the four 3-pointers he made. His first 3-pointer came in the game’s first three minutes, while his last was midway through the second half, with Clemson already leading by 24 points.
The Tigers’ next challenge is a game against Louisville, where they will look to continue their winning streak.
